Electrician

Residential and commercial electricians install, maintain and repair electrical systems in a wide variety of facilities. Electricians combine technical knowledge with hands-on skills to ensure that electrical systems run safely and efficiently.

Students learn skills in:

Residential, commercial and industrial wiring practices
Construction and electrical safety
Navigation of the National Electrical Code®
Wired and automated control systems
Building integrated systems (lighting, information technology infrastructure, safety and climate systems)
Electrical calculations proven through hands-on labs
Reading of schematics, structural prints and wiring diagrams
Soft skills required to be a valued employee or business owner
